🎯 Sacramento County — Course of Fire

📋 Overview

Each student will fire 35 rounds from each firearm that will be listed on the qualification form.
The course of fire consists of five stages designed to demonstrate safe handling and accuracy at varying distances.

🔫 Course Stages

Stage 1: 1.5 yards — 5 rounds
Stage 2: 3 yards — 10 rounds
Stage 3: 5 yards — 10 rounds
Stage 4: 7 yards — 5 rounds
Stage 5: 10 yards — 5 rounds

🟦 Total: 35 rounds per firearm

🎯 Target Requirements

• The target must measure 12 × 16 inches
• Must be capable of being scored (paper or approved scoring target)

🏅 Minimum Passing Score

Students must achieve a minimum passing score of 80% to qualify.

💡 Tips for Students

• 🔋 Bring at least 35 rounds of factory ammunition per firearm (plus extra if you want a practice round)
• 🧰 Bring required magazines or speed loaders
• 📝 Scores will be recorded on the official qualification form — ask the range officer if you have questions about scoring or documentation
• 💬 If you’re unsure about any part of the course, ask before shooting
