🎯 Placer County — Course of Fire

📋 Overview

The Live-Fire portion of the training shall be demonstrated with all firearms to be listed on the license.
Students must complete all stages safely and accurately to meet county qualification standards.

🔫 Live-Fire Course Stages

Stage 1: 1.5 yards — 5 rounds
Stage 2: 3 yards — 5 rounds
Stage 3: 5 yards — 10 rounds
Stage 4: 7 yards — 5 rounds
Stage 5: 10 yards — 5 rounds

🟦 Total: 30 rounds per firearm

🎯 Target Requirements

• Target dimensions: 12 × 16 inches
• Target must be capable of being scored (paper or approved scoring target)

🏅 Passing Percentage

Students must achieve a minimum passing score of 80% to qualify.

💡 Tips for Students

• 🔋 Bring at least 30 rounds of factory ammunition per firearm (plus extra if you want a practice round)
• 🧰 Bring required magazines or speed loaders for the firearms you will list on the license
• 📝 Scores will be recorded on the official qualification form — ask the range officer if you have questions about scoring or documentation
• 💬 If you’re unsure about any part of the course, ask before shooting
